Survives. That's what he does. And then he goes out for coffee, or wine, or dancing, or standing before world leaders and fighting for the release of other captives, or whatever he feels like doing. He's still finding his way home.

Since his release in 2023, Jeff has been working to end the barbarisms of hostage taking, illegal detention, and human trafficking of all sorts.

All the Way Home is out and available! HarperCollins/Zondervan released the book on September 15, 2026. It's a memoire of my 6.5 years as an Al-Qaida hostage, in northern Mali. You can get it at bookstores and from most online retailers. Enjoy the read!
